Every child should know what it feels like to dance. This is the founding principle of Tutu School. The Tutu School believes that motor skill development is infinitely enhanced by Tchaikovsky and Bach, that young imaginations benefit immensely from exploring the enchanted worlds of swans and sugar plums, and that twirling should be a fundamental part of any childhood.

Joining our toddler for her ballet class at Tutu School in Cherry Creek is our favorite activity. It’s more than just dance, it’s where her imagination and confidence bloom. Watching her learn and laugh with her friends in this enchanting environment is the highlight of our week. Honestly, the teachers were great at getting our 3y/o comfortable with doing a class without her parents. They were much better than some of the other kids places we've tried. I can't emphasize enough how good the teachers are at making the kids feel welcome and have fun. We go on Sunday afternoons because nothing else is open at that time. Pro tip: the class is 45 minutes long, so parents bring something to entertain yourself with. I personally never forget my headphones.

My 2yo absolutely LOVES this class, and we've been doing it consistently for about 1 year now. It's really fun to see the same kids and parents each week, and the kiddos are becoming friends. As a dad, I really appreciate that the class is 50/50 dads and moms in the class. I don't feel awkward at all coming with just me and my daughter. And it's kinda entertaining to be a part of the class. I also have to give a shout out to our teacher who is so good at making the kids feel welcomed and entertained. We do the 9:30AM Saturday class, and it's the best time to get out of the house on the weekend. For where they can improve - I will say that scheduling make ups and navigating the sign up flow is a little confusing. I'd like to have more control over if we want to go on a random weekday. Pro tips - there's free 2 hour parking in the Cherry Creek Neighborhood. Aviano coffee is a great after class snack/pick me up for kids and adults.
